Trading is an ancient way of gaining what you need for your family from others in a fair way. The people trading determine the value of the items in relation to each other and make a deal. Some trade items are worth more to some people while it could be worthless to others who don’t have scarcity of that supply item.

There will always be items for trading that are more valuable than others to store when planning your prep supplies. By storing these high-value items, you can ensure that you have the tender to trade when your family needs other things during a crisis scenario.

During an emergency or survival situation, your focus needs to be on your most basic needs and then building how you will take care of yourself in the long term. How will your family secure shelter, food, water, and security? The supplies that fuel these basic needs will always be in demand and a great thing to think about stocking. A bag of rice could become a hot commodity when the food supplies are short.

As a savvy prepper you must strategically think ahead. Plan your family‘s needs, but also spend time on additional high-value treat items that cannot only bring your extra family comfort, but bring comfort to the person who has a trade supply that your family needs. Anything supply that makes life more tolerable and increases physical survival is a good supply idea that could bring high trade value in a survival scenario. Supplies that are small and easy to carry are easier to stockpile, especially if you have to leave your home unexpectedly and can only carry so much.
